On the June 7th 2007 Pratum Integrum orchestra will participate in the concert performance of Henry Purcell’s opera “Dido and Aeneas”. This concert will be performed/presented at the 1st International Chorus Festival in St. Petersburg. Conductor Paul Esswood (Great Britain). Soloists: Valeria Safonova, Olga Grechko, Stanislav Leontiev, Zoya Tzererina. Youth Chamber chorus of the Philharmonic society of St. Petersburg will also participate in the performance.

This up coming Saturday, April 21 st 2007, Pavel Serbin, Artistic Director of Pratum Integrum orchestra, will participate in the concert with Paul Esswood, well-known british counter-tenor. This concert will be held with in the framework of the International "ANTIQUARIUM" Music Festival. Music pieces by Handle, Purcell, Johnson, Arne, Caccini, Bononcini, B. Marcello, Giordani and others w ill be performed at the concert. Beside vocal performances at the concert will be also presented some dance interludes. Concert will be held at the “Maneg” Hall at the Moscow Theatre “School of drama art” (Sretenka street, 19/27). Concert begins at 20.00.

Pratum Integrum performed Quartets and Symphonies written by Joseph Wölfl (1773 – 1812). This composer was a brilliant pianist, his contemporaries often compared him with Beethoven and some of them earnestly wrote about Wolfl’s superiority. So the name of the programme was «The rival of Beethoven». Wölfl’s music is little known in Russia – his Symphonies had never been performed here before this evening.
